S3-MICROpix®: Absolute SAXS - Ultimate Performance

The S3-MICROpix® is the outcome of the combined knowledge and skills of Dectris and Hecus. The small- and wide-angle x-ray scattering system S3-MICRO with the Pilatus 100K-detector is now available and impresses with power, speed and compactness. This S/WAXS instrument stands for:
Test Results Exceed ExpectationsThe primary beam, with a total intensity of ~ 3x107 photons/s, has a half-width of < 2 pixels (1 pix = (0.172 mm2), and 60 % of the primary intensity is contained in the central 3 pixels. Thereby, and through the low beam convergence of ~0.5 mrad, the target resolution range of 1-200 nm, with a brilliance of > 109 has been achieved. The zero-noise characteristics of the detector, together with its unique dynamic range (0-106), allows direct absolute-scale SAXS measurements, transmission scanning and high-resolution GISAXS with S3-MICROpix®. The patterns are free of optical distortions (‘beam smearing’), as otherwise encountered in systems with conventional Kratky optics. These features open new and highly attractive opportunities for SAXS in the analytical laboratory for R&D, quality control and process analytical technology.
