Thermotropic phase transition in a liquid crystal system (DPPC/water) - SWAXS

The SAXS patterns show the changes in the multilamellar organisation in the pre-transition (L_β' - P_β'), the sub-main transition, and the main transition (P_β' - L_α), while the WAXS patterns show the associated changes in the lateral packing of the hydrocarbon chains. Measurements were performed with the Hecus SpinCap system under constant rotation of the sample capillary to prevent sedimentation/flotation.
