Cutting Edge Technology

The Hecus ASA technology, first introduced in 1992 has helped the position sensitive detector PSD 50M to become the most popular detector of its type.

As in all our products, cutting edge technology is also built into the ASA board and software. Experienced Hecus employees are constantly working on updating the ASA software to keep up to the fast changing requirements in the high-tech world.

In the new version of the ASA Card, the use of the latest microcontroller-generation is enabled by the application of an ARM processor with 32-Bit-RISC-architecture. The integrated Flash-Memory replaces the external memory, therefore great space saving is achieved.

The most important innovations include:

  • use of latest technology standards
  • data throughput of 100,000 impulses/sec
  • real time, parallel operation when conducting SWAXS measurements
  • readout via USB during operation
ASA Stand-Alone Version

Users can also choose the stand-alone version if their laboratory environment allows for it.

"Overall, the improvements enable the user to conduct faster, more precise measurements and offer more flexibility", summarizes Stephan Mittendrein, Product Manager at Hecus, the advantages.
